Ethiopia's Orphans, Adoption, and Magnifying God
This video was created from footage captured on Carolina Hope Christian Adoption Agency's recent trip to Ethiopia with one of Desiring God's cameramen. Every shot of this particular video was taken at one of orphanages with which we work, an orphanage that is located in a village with 20,000+ known cases of AIDS. It is a profoundly needy area. The video is interspersed with quotations from John Piper's book "Don't Waste Your Life." (less)
Carolina Hope is the awesome agency we used to adopt the twins . They have recently opened up a Ethiopia program . They did a benefit concert with Caedmons Call and showed these video clips...... the first once is amazing in how he basically says that the Church is responsible to step up and support adoption. The second one just broke my heart.

Thank you for sharing these videos. My agency also recently started an Ethiopia program and I have followed it closely. There is so much need in that country. I am seeking God now in how I can help.

both videos made me cry.
Because both are truth -
James 1:27 says it best-
if The one thing our God, or creator - the Lord of heaven and earth sees as pure and perfect is:
taking care of widows and caring for oprhans
then why would anyone that has experienced God and his love and know him as Lord NOT do all that they can for the rest of their lives to make a difference in these two areas?
I do not get hearing fom a believer that they do not "FEEL" called to help in any way in those two areas -
It is not about what you feel-
We were TOLD and we are EXPECTED to
we have a God given responsibility to make a difference in the lives of widows and most importantly orphan's lives.
not everyone can adopt - but more can than do and EVERYONE can help in some way -
no amount of help is too small if it comes from the heart:)
