WATCH MOM

Hey mom , wanna see my latest trick ??

watch this - I can single handed flip this handle up

I can even do it with my eyes closed

they are still closed

Are you impressed yet ?

So mom what do you think ?? Are you really proud ??

One thing that is so important yet so simple (that I need to remember to do more of) is PRAISE MY KIDS . At such a young age they seek out our approval . All they need to hear "good job" and they are happy . Some vocalize the need to hear it all the time . In my case its both of my boys . Especially Brayden .... all day he is saying "watch mom" . And I just need to take that second out of my day to say good job. Its simple but means so much to them. (although after the 20th time today , I wonder if its still necessary :) or after taylor has wacked my ankle for the 20th time while I am watching his skateboard tricks :) In those moments I do wonder if there is a limit of times we have to say it in a day -- what do you think -- LOL !!!

You are right, remembering to be positive is hard to do. I have to work hard at it. Though, I think I am going to wear a ticker, and after 100 positives I can start the nagging. That sound good?

I love Angelika's perm. I would rather not talk about my 80's perms if that is ok.

I try to praise a lot and make a big deal about the little things--builing with blocks, putting a puzzle piece in, etc. All the little things are big things now because there is so much learning going on and their self-esteem is developing. I agree with you about the importance of it.

You are a great mom--very positive and patient. I don't think you can over-praise as long as it is real, especially as your children get older and they know it is sincere. Obviously, skateboarding is important to Taylor and he needs your praise.

I second the Amen! I can't offer a magic number of daily praises for you though~LOL~ You are such a good mommy for being in tune with them. I love this post!

It is amazing how they loved to be praised. Kaleb lights up when I say good job and then he repeats it over and over again. He also likes to flip up our drawer handles!!!
