I went to a Bebo Norman concert last night and he brought up his work with Compassion. Wow -- I was so emotional -- it struck me in such a different way .Not only after adopting but also from living in Guatemala and seeing first hand the poverty sticken kids. Basically there is no excuse for us to not sponsor a child -- right !!?? I am going to go to there website today and pick a child from Guatemala to sponsor. Does anyone else use this organization -- if so -- have you visited your child you sponsor ?? I am very excited about this !!!
In Mark 9:37, Jesus said: "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." The Bible lays out a clear mandate for all Christians to care for children and the poor. When we do this, we are not only ministering to children but to God as well.

We have been sponsoring a child from Guatemala for about 5 years now through Compassion. Its a great program. We never visited our child.
We started sponsoring her before we even considered adopting. We picked Guatemala because we were missionaries there in 1999.
